Refugees Class is the fourth class that qualifies for Immigration to Canada. However I have to mention that the applicants under this class are admitted under special rules.

Convention Refugees Abroad Class:
In order to qualify as a refugee under this class, you must:
-have fear of persecution for reason of race, religion, nationality.political opinion or membership in a particular social group, and
*be outside your country of nationality and unable or unwilling to obtain protection of your country, or
*if you have no country of nationality, be outside your former home country and unable or unwilling to return to that country.
-have not ceased to be a refugee, and
-there must be no reasonable prospect of a solution within reasonable time.
Members of the Country of Asylum Class:
To qualify under this class you must:
-be outside Canada and outside your country of nationality or home country, and
*have received a private sponsorship, or
*be able to establish that you have sufficient financial resources
-have been, and continue to be affected by civil or armed conflict or violation of human rights in your country of nationality or home country, and
-there must be no reasonable prospect of solution within reasonable time.
Members of the Source Country Class:
In order to qualify:
-your county of nationality or home country must be:Colombia,Congo,El Salvador,Guatemala,Sierra Leone or Sudan ( this list is subject to change)
-you must be living in that country at the time you apply for protection
-you must be, or have been:
*detained or imprisoned in that country
-you must meet the Convention refugee criteria with the exception that you live in your country of nationality or home country
-there must be no prospect for solution within a reasonable period of time.

Immigrate To Canada – Part 5 – How To Do It Alone – Business Class
The Business Class is the fourth and last subclass of the Federal Experience Worker Class and we will analyze it bellow.
Who can qualify? Those are: Investors, Entrepreneurs and Self-employed people.
As from September 1 2006 the application process for those applicants is simplified due to the fact that the waiting time for an application to be processed exceeds 2 – 3 years.
So the new procedure includes two steps.
1. Submitting Initial Application
2. Filing Supportive Documents
Stage One – Submitting the Initial Application
When you submit the initial application to the visa office in your country, they will check that the correct form is submitted and the correct fees have been paid. You have to submit only the following documents:
- Application for permanent residence in Canada (IMM0008BU) – you can find it inside My Immigration Consultant
- Use of representative (IMM5476), if applicable – you can find it inside My Immigration Consultant
- Processing fee
If you have submitted wrong application form or the fees paid are incorrect, your application will be returned
Also if you have submitted documents that are not required for the initial application, they will be returned to you.
If the documents and fees submitted are correct an Acknowledgment of Receipt letter will be issued, generally within 30 days, confirming that your application has been registered. It will also include your file number and information regarding the expected processing time.
During the initial application period, do not contact the visa office for any reason except if you have
- changed your mailing address
- you decide to withdraw your application (processing fees will be refunded)
- you have changed your immigration representative
Stage Two – Filing Supporting Documents
When the visa office is ready to examine your application, they will contact you and ask you to submit the following:
- updated application forms
- additional fees (if you have married or have additional children)
- All the supporting document (They will give you a checklist for all documents needed) some of those documents are: photographs, educational certificates, professional certificates, business documents, proof of language ability, police clearance certificates, etc
After receiving all those documents, a Citizen and Immigration (CIC) officer will examine your application taking into account all the information and documentation you have provided.
The CIC officer will make a decision on your application based on the points you accumulate in the selection factors. You will also be assessed if you have the ability to meet the required funds amount for the size of your family. Then you will be advised of the results and if there are any additional requirements, such as medical examinations, interview, passport, etc.
Processing Times:
The length of time that is need for an application to complete stage one differs from country to country. You will be informed about the expected processing time in the Acknowledgment of Receipt letter. Provincial Nominee Class is the third subclass of the Federal Skilled Worker Class.

Provincial Nominees Class Immigrants are selected to meet regional need.
In order to immigrate to one of the Canada’s provinces as a Provincial Nominee, first you have to be nominated by the province or territory you want to immigrate to. All the different provinces and territories have their own nomination procedures.
After you have been successfully nominated by a province you will receive a certificate of nomination. This certificate will be sent directly to the visa office by the province so there is no need to attach it to your application set.

5. Arranged employment carries 10 points e.g. if one is offered a job by the HRDC (Human Resources Development Canada).
6. Adaptability is 10 points, where your accompanying partner e.g. spouse, in-laws etc fulfills certain levels of education, have been educated in Canada, if they have worked, have extended family or arranged employment in the country.
